Guest granteric Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 can anyone please help me i have got a ford galaxy v6 ghia x on a R registration,and i have also just bought a obd 2 lead which came with the driver discs etc and have got the com ports ect working ok,I got information come up on my lap top but it doesnt seem to show me any fault codes etc.The main reason why i bought this cable is that my wife lost the keys to our car which was parked in a pay and display car park,so i managed to get in and broke the ignition barrel and moved it.i have now fitted a new ignition and key from another Galaxy and am trying to code the new key to the vehicle but my computer wont let me code the key and its going to cost me 99 dolars to get the obd2 cable to work properly.I must be mad as i have tried now for 4 days trying to solve this immobilizer problem now,my wifes giving me ear ache as she needs the galaxy for the school runs ect again.So could someone please advise me is it going to be worth me paying for the Vag-com just to do my immobilizer or is it worth me taking it to a garage,i have looked in my local yellow pages in my essex area and cant find anyone to do it.All Advice would be appreciated.Many Thanks Grant.
